Before you use it: these letters are not real bold. They are other Unicode characters. Some screen readers may read them as math symbols, and search may not find them. Use them on a word or two, not on whole paragraphs.

Select part of the text and press a style. It stays in your browser.

These alphabets cover plain A to Z, so borrowed words with accents need a trick. With the box checked we put the accent mark on top of the styled letter, and it can look slightly off on some devices. If you uncheck it, those letters stay unstyled. Plain English text is not affected.

About this tool

How it works

  1. Type or paste your text.
  2. Select a word or a phrase and press Bold or Italic.
  3. Check the preview and copy the text to paste it into LinkedIn.

What to know

For feed posts, LinkedIn's help does not describe a bold or italic button. What this tool does is swap your letters for other letters that look like bold or italic. It works for highlighting a word, but it has limits: it can look different on each device, and screen readers may read the letters wrong.

For help with structure, like line breaks and the hook in the first two lines, see LinkedIn post templates for founders.

Frequently asked questions

Does it work with accented letters?

Mostly. The Unicode alphabets cover plain A to Z, so for words with accents we put the styled letter and the accent mark on top of it. On some devices the mark can look slightly off. If you prefer to avoid that, uncheck the box and those letters stay unstyled. Plain English text is not affected.

Can screen readers read it?

Not always. Some screen readers may read these letters as math symbols or skip them. Use them on a word or two and not on long sentences, so your post stays clear for everyone.

Does it affect search?

It can. Styled letters are different characters, so a search for the word typed normally may not find them. Do not use this style on the keyword you want people to find you with.

Does it look the same on every device?

No. If a device does not have those letters, it may show boxes or symbols. Check your post on your phone after you publish it.

Do you save or send my text?

No. Everything happens in your browser. We only measure, anonymously, which tool is used and which action was taken, without your text.
